The Coventry GT Warhammer 40k Super Major had two events. This one was a 3 day event with 8 games and only one undefeated Player. Mani Cheema slapped down Malik Amin Rubio Game 7 but that didn’t dishearten Malik Amin Rubio too much as he pulled out a second place placing.
The new orks have dominated 2 Super Major events but Admech had a strong showing with a second and third place showing. That’s not to say Drukhari didn’t hold their own they just didn’t make the podium this time.

The Coventry GT Warhammer 40k 1st place Mani Cheema – Orks
If you thought his Blood Axe buggy spam list were mean, here comes the extra dakka in the form of Dakka Jets and Wazbom Jets. We have seen Freebooterz take advantage of their bonus to hit ability. This list suffers the loss of 9 CP for 3 detachments to skip out on troops and objective secured units of its own. However, most troops can’t take the hit that will spawn the Clan Kultur bonus. If your opponent has no one left alive to hold the objectives, no worries there. Playing so low on command points can be hard for some players but clearly not for Mani as he had a great Showing.

The Coventry GT 2nd place Malik Amin Rubio – Admech

Another fine showing from Malik Amin Rubio as second place at a super major is hard to pull off. Malik bounced back from a 7th place thrashing from Mani Cheema. Defeating Joe Maylam’s Drukhari. The same army that beat the third place player. Malik’s Admech list only has 3 flyers but keeping them as Mars allows for them to have a 1+ save or particularly strong shooting from those flyers and Chicken Walkers. The sheer volume of fire and maneuverability of the Lucius detachment clearly helped at objective clearing and holding. The large blocks are harder to shift as well. Clearly a great showing coming in 2nd place.

The Coventry GT 3rd Place Adam Lane – Adeptus Mechanicus

Adam Lane brought more planes than Malik Amin Rubio and had the Admech Army of Renown of the Skitarii Veteran Cohort. Losing once to Joe Maylam and his Drukhari. A similar Drukhari list is what managed to Hold Mani Cheema down so much as well. Furthermore, Adam Lane got his revenge on two other Drukhari Players, rounds 7 and 8.
All together this list profits from the great saves of Rust Stalkers and the combination of Canticles and Doctrina on every unit in this army along with the bonuses of the cohort. One key canticle would be Incantation of the Iron Soul for a turn of defense against Psychic heavy armies. Of course with such an efficient army and the opportunity to deal mortal wounds, one could just aim at killing the opponents models.
