The Battle for Salvation Warhammer 40k Tournament returns after a one year break with 80 players throwing dice and moving Minis in New York. Using the top cut system player could allow for any player to win after day 2. However, that did not stop Sean Nayden from going undefeated all together. Defeating the second place player in the Drukhari on Drukhari arena spectacle.

Venom Spam with a side of more Venom spam dominated at the Battle for Salvation Warhammer 40k Tournament. This list has a lot going on with it. Firstly, the most expensive units for To The Last are all characters. While Drukhari Characters are very efficent Killers gaining 15 just by living will obviously help them to win games. Such as placing all of them into a cheap venom and just placing that Venom into Strategic reserves and waiting to drop them later in game. Furthermore, anyone taking assassinate, just won’t get the chance at those characters.
Placing them into Strategic Reserves late is a great reason to take the Poisoned Tongue. With two Kabals, now there’s a chance to take more Trueborn. Unfortunately, to keep them cheap and small enough to fit into a venom, there are only 5 Trueborn in the squad. They still pack a punch with the Blaster and Blast Pistol.
Kabal of the Flayed Skull brings faster moving Venoms, great for getting on objectives or getting those blasters in range. If there is an Adeptus Mechanicus Flyer in Light Cover as well as Bulwark Protocols, well those venoms and the Trueborn will ignore that.
One thing to notice is how the Court of the Archon is kept small and cheap to avoid being the required To The Last unit so they can still do their job protecting the Archon. With so many Venoms rushing objectives, killing the Venoms for Grind Them Down also throws down objective secured bodies.

Battle for Salvation 2nd place Anthony Vanella – Drukari
Anthony went undefeated until round 6 where Drukhari on Drukhari violence saw him to second place to Venom Spam. Clearly all the tools were there as he had to beat the third place winner. Dark Technomancers help the Chronos deal wounds. The Cult of Strife has access to a powerful supplement. Kabal of the Black Heart allows for efficient Raiders. A Standard and straightforward list that clearly has all the tools to win. Great Showing and congratulations for the second place.

Daniel Wolmoth lost to just one player at the Battle for Salvation Warhammer 40k Tournament. The second place winner Anthony Vanella. The Sisters he brought hit hard with plenty of Mortal Wounds and pregame movement. The Sacrosants bring plenty of damage 2 melee to deal with marines but have a very important job of providing Bodyguard to the characters. Especially Morvenn Vahl and Celestine as they can push up and hold objectives. Morven Vahl also provides plenty of efficiency for the Retributor Squads with rerolls to hit and wound.
This list has the melee, range and mobility to deal with many threats and it shows as he had to go through Freebooterz Orks and Drukhari on the climb to third place. Congratulations.
