Today at Warhammer World a huge amount of information about Space Marines dropped. From a new codex to new units to remodels there’s a lot of information here so let’s get to it.

The Codex

First up is the codex itself. This codex will include rules and datasheets for pretty much all Space Marines. Including the likes of the Blood Angels and Space Wolves. This is great for the player looking to run multiple variations of Space Marines. Also announced were Codex supplements. Which will give chapter specific datasheets and rules to individualize the chapters.
Space Marines also will be getting a new universal rule in addition to They Shall Know No Fear and Bolter Discipline, Shock Assault:
This ability will apply to all Space Marines. Even the likes of Deathwatch and any Heretic Astartes as well. The codex also has rules to make your own chapter with a mix and match system to make what you may desire.

The New Units

The first new unit is the Invictor Tactical Warsuit. This suit is used for stealth and reconnaissance. Unlike its more heavy brother the Dreadnought. This suit is designed to work with Vanguard units and it has the ability to be in concealed deployment with them. The model looks really cool, kind of getting a Matrix 3 vibe. Although the best bit is the pistolized Heavy Bolter attached to its hip.
All the Primaris Vanguard units from Shadowspear are going to be receiving their own kits soon. All the detail on these models from their cloaks to the antennae are pretty great. Also Primaris are getting a new transport in the form of the Impulsor.
The Remade Models

Two new models are getting the same treatment as Marneus Calgar. Chief Librarian Tigurius of the Ultramarines and Kor’sarro Khan of the White Scars. Both models reimaginings are great. From the intricate detail on Tigurius’ staff, to the fact that Kor’sarro Khan has an eagle with an auspex on his arm. These models are two to watch out for.

Kill Team Set

On top of all that core Warhammer 40k goodness, a new starter set for Kill Team was announced. This starter set comes with a Space Wolves Reivers and T’au Fire Warriors. Which creates a neat combo for splitting with friends. Also the terrain included in the box is Sector Mechanicus style. This makes the battlefield look like a really cool steampunk-factory asthetic.
Final Reveal

There was one last gem at the end of all this information. It was a teaser for some sort of expansion or campaign possibly. The name of it is Psychic Awakening, so there is a likelihood of Psykers getting some buffs, sad day for T’au. It is stated that this event will affect every faction. And the wait won’t be long as this event will be releasing Autumn 2019.

In Conclusion

There are a lot of great updates and new things coming to Space Marines soon. Most of the items mentioned all had a nebulous coming soon date. But, it looks like Warhammer 40k is going to get a lot more interesting in the coming months.
As always, A big thanks to Games Workshop for the images provided for this article.
