What happens when an incredibly powerful artifact creature goes head-to-head against a plucky young shaman with a gift for creating small, elemental pests?
Well, you’re about to find out!
This week on Nights At The Game Table, we’ve got two of Pat’s Games’ most skilled players, Kevin and Berni, returning once again! After their epic battle last week, the two are back with all-new decks designed to push their skills to the limit!
As always, the game will be commented on by the deck-building expert himself, Aryeh, along with color commentary from our NATGT fan-favorite Kevin O’Connor!
We’ve got the full rundown on each player’s deck, so check them out below to see how they match up!
Kevin
Kevin’s deck is a green deck built around two formidable cards: Hardened Scales and Arcbound Ravager. The Ravager is a well-known colorless artifact that gains +1/+1 for every artifact sacrificed. While that would be formidable enough on its own, it becomes doubly so (literally) when combined with Hardened Scales, which adds another +1/+1 whenever such a counter is place on a creature Kevin controls. To make this combo even MORE dangerous, the Ravager can also transfer its counter onto another creature when it is destroyed, including another Ravager! With 4 Ravagers in his deck, AND the stacking power of Hardened Scales, Benji might find himself facing a nearly-unstoppable Ravager onslaught!

Berni
While Kevin’s deck focuses on buffing up his creatures, Berni’s RGWB deck is built on the idea that quantity is a quality all its own! The main heavy-hitter of his deck is Young Pyromancer, an inexpensive Shaman that creates a 1/1 elemental creature token whenever a sorcery is cast. With 18 sorceries in his deck, Berni could easily swarm the field with elemental creature tokens in just a few turns. This is ESPECIALLY true due to the card’s masterful pairing with Lingering Souls, which creates two 1/1 flying creature tokens! So, for just a few mana, Berni can pair these cards up to be bringing in 3 new creatures every time Lingering Souls is cast! If Berni plays his cards right, he may be able to swarm the field with flying monstrosities before Kevin can begin buffing his creatures!
