How to paint Alaitoc Aeldari

While all Craftworlds use the very effective sniper Rangers, Alaitoc has the most of them. Alaitoc Rangers, also known as the Starstriders, are Alaitoc Rangers who explore the galaxy rather than live on the Craftworld. These rangers remain faithful to Alaitoc and only visit their Craftworld on rare occasions.

Aside from regular Rangers, Alaitoc is the only Craftworld that has Pathfinders, who are extremely talented Rangers. These well-trained snipers are capable of wreaking havoc on the adversary. The Craftworld occasionally summons its Rangers to assist Alaitoc’s soldiers in times of need. Because its Eldar are known to become completely consumed by their chosen Path, Alaitoc can summon an abnormally large number of Exarchs.

Many of its residents, however, become Outcasts in order to satisfy their extreme urges, making Alaitoc strongly linked to Eldar Corsairs around the Galaxy.

The Sword of Khaine bisects the Red Moon, the insignia of the House of Eldanesh, in Alaitoc’s symbol, referencing the War Gods’ death of the Eldar hero.

The Imperial Inquisition is reported to have learned significant information about the Eldar through torturing its enormous number of Outcasts. As a result, tensions between the Imperium and Alaitoc have risen, and the two are currently at odds.

The Craftworld is also infamous for its brutal war against the Necrons, which began when the Seer Council of Alaitoc viewed Imotekh the Stormlord’s emergence as a fulfillment of the Book of Mournful Night’s Prophecy of Doom Arising. Alaitoc finally came into possession of an old crystalline map of every Tomb World in the Galaxy, albeit only parts remain now. This map, along with their network of Outcasts and Exodites, is used to plan a war against the Necron threat.

Despite the rise of Chaos in the aftermath of the Great Rift, Alaitoc is convinced that the Necrons are the galaxy’s greatest threat. At the culmination of a geometric disaster tied to the Necrons, Alaitoc’s foremost Farseer, Ylocu Shaie, sang of a sea of dead stars. As a result, they are allied with the vehemently anti-Necron Masque of the Frozen Stars.

ALAITOC ARMOR BLUE

Step 1: Prime the miniature black. Then, spraying only from directly above and at 45 degree angle, use white in  a spray can or an airbrush to pre-highlight the miniature. This is called a zenithal highlight.

Step 2: Carefully apply Ultramarines Blue Contrast paint to all of the areas that are going to be blue. Try to be controlled at this step so that you don’t get any spotting.

Step 3: Apply Ulthuan Gray to a dry brush, specific paintbrush or just an old brush if you don’t have one. Dry brush the blue areas highlighting the raised areas.

Step 4: Apply Drakenhof Nightshade wash to a brush. Apply the wash to all of the blue areas. Do this in a controlled fashion. Applying too much wash at once can lead to bad results.
