This is a breakdown on how to use rapid fire weapons in Warhammer 40k 9th Edition.
A rapid fire weapon is the basic weapon that almost everybody has in Warhammer 40K.
It’s your standard weapon, the bolt gun.
The simple rule of rapid fire weapons is they get to fire double the shots at half range.
A lot of people get confused by that so let’s clarify…
Here’s an example: a Storm Bolter is a rapid fire 2 weapon. This means that it fires two shots, but at half range, it fires four shots!
If you have the Astartes, Heretic Astartes, or Adeptus Astartes keyword then you’re going to have some unique rules!
One of their big rules is when they stand still, they can rapid fire at double range with bolt weapons!
This is for bolt guns ONLY.
NOT plasma weapons.
Also, there are certain models within the Space Marine army that can fire double shots at full range.
An example of this are Centurions.
They’ll be able to shoot rapid fire at full range, even if they move.
That’s a huge advantage for them!
That covers the basics of how to use rapid fire weapons in Warhammer 40k 9th Edition. We have also covered How to use Pistols in Warhammer 40K 9th Edition
