It’s time for another epic battle on Mana Wars, where we’re once again pairing with the incredible staff at Pat’s Games to give you the latest and greatest decks! This week, we have Aryeh and Sigourney facing off!
Aryeh: Selesnya Legends
Aryeh’s deck is built heavily around the use of legendary cards, both to deal damage to his opponent and prevent them from playing their best cards. The main heavy-hitter of the dark is Emmara, Soul Of The Accord, which will create a steady stream of 1/1 lifelink soldier tokens whenever it becomes tapped. At the same time, Board the Weatherlight will allow for rapid searching of the deck that will make securing Emmara much easier. Furthermore, many of his opponent’s counterattacks can easily by stymied by Urza’s Ruinous Blast, which rids the field of anything that is not legendary. From there, the field is left open for cards sch as Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy to carve a path straight to the opponent’s heart(especially when buffed by all of the tokens Emmara creates.)

Sigourney: Golgari Midrange
Sigourney’s deck is a versatile Golgari deck with a ton of different ways to make an opponent’s day miserable. Central to this deck is Vivien Reid, a Planeswalker which offers a fantastic combination of deck searching, enemy destruction, and buffing of your own creatures. When Vivien Reid’s ability to buff creates for 2/2 with vigilance, trample, and indestructible is combined with Doom Whisperer, a 6/6 flyer, Sigourney can create a nearly unstoppable 8/8 demon to decimate Aryeh’s forces. And, of course, if there is anything Aryeh can throw out that’s too much to handle, Ravenous Chupacabra can destroy any creature standing in her way. Unless Aryeh can get Urza’s Ruinous Blast onto the field quickly, Sigourney and her forces can easily wipe him out.
